Fashion week, here I come.

You know when your kids are little and you are so excited for them to open their Birthday/Christmas presents and they are more excited to just play with the wrapping paper or boxes? Yeah. That's basically how I felt today.
I have been wanting to make Avery a tutu for a while since she has no dress ups, so I decided today was the day.
She might look happy, but she hates the thing. She runs the other way when I try to put it on her. Her arms are up like this because she's trying not to touch it. Good thing I bought enough material to make multiples.

Then, I thought Tyson would want something as well and so to avoid the "why can't boys wear tutu's" question, I decided to make him a cape. He was so pumped when I told him what I was making and he was so happy when I was done so he could put it on.
He took a couple laps around the place and then took it off and told me he didn't want to wear it anymore. But, of course, he loves picking up all the scraps of fabric and making them into little ties or rolling around in them. So, now I have a tutu that Avery won't wear, a cape that Tyson won't wear and a huge mess! Maybe I'll just have to make a tutu for myself and wear it while I clean so my inner dancer can come out!!

I love the tutu and cape. You are so talented. I bet they will like them off and on. I definitely think you should make yourself a tutu. Maybe Avery would wear hers if you were wearing one too. :)

oh just wait a few more months and Avery will love it!!! Mallory just got into the dress-up stage and Reeslyn went through it too. I have to pry the dress-ups off of her these days! But of course if that day never comes we wouldn't mind at all if you sent it our way because that is the cutest tutu ever!

Lindsey has never been into itchy tutu fabric either, as much as I wanted her to be! I just thought every girl would want to sacrifice the discomfort of the itchy fabric for the loveliness of the outfit. Good job for at least trying to make their day! They both turned out cute.

You made those? Very impressive. My mom got Gwen some tutu's to wear when she was like 3 months old. Gwen likes to wear them now, but only every once in a while. I am sure that she will enjoy the tutu soon, it not she can always play with the cape.

I love that she hates that darn tutu! Kesley was the same way.. she said it hurt her so bad. She said it tickles. In her own little language she meant it itched. Ya, that was two years ago and she still won't put it on. the things we do for our little girls. I would have loved to have one when I was her age!!!

I'm super impressed with your sewing skills...even if the kids don't appreciate it. Maybe Tyson would prefer the tutu and Avery the cape?

Oh that's too good Paige! I'm laughing out loud right now. That's the story of my life. Everything I ever do for my kids, they never think it's as great as I have imagined in my mind. Love it! You're such a great mom!
